Bayonetta Xbox 360 Reader Review Plus Expert Tips To Beat The Game

This is a review by fellow Gamersworldbd reader Enamur Reza and has been edited by me.

Ever since I have heard about Bayonetta I was dying to play this game mainly for two reasons: I am a big fan of Devil May Cry 4 and hack-n-slash type games.

First of all, I was a bit frustrated about Bayonetta because it [got negative feedback]. But eventually [the game] earned my respect as I was going through the chapters and I got to admit, [Bayonetta] has its unique style.

Bayonetta Gamersworldbd Review

Let’s take a look at what is new and cool:

• Graphics is awesome. Very sharp texture and no visual stuttering [on the Xbox 360, but PS3 suffers a bit].

• Combat is satisfying.

• A new option is [trying out new techniques before you commit to buy them] in the gate of hell (shop for buying items).

It is very useful indeed as you often face dilemma to choose what item could be appropriate for you. Just click on the tactics you want to get, click on the try button, it’ll take you to a ground where an enemy will fall off and you can apply the tactic to understand if that really is needed for you or not.

• Couple of boss fights [play out in stages]. Remember the last boss fights [in Ninja Gaiden]? Each time I got [killed] in any of the stages, I had to start it over right from the beginning arrrrrgh.

Bayonetta [thankfully does not have] that epic problem; it has checkpoints between certain stages of the entire boss fight. No need to worry guys.

• Environment is really cool; it reminds me of Ninja Gaiden II and DMC 4.

• Bayonetta is unique in her characteristics. She has such [an] appealing attitude and [is] very sexy. It’s [fun to watch] her almost [naked] each time she casts a magic spell.

Bayonetta Sexy

• Bayonetta has 16 chapters with a prologue and epilogue. Each chapter is cut down into several verses where demons will attack you frequently.

When the main demon is knocked down, you can immediately pick up the special weapon that [drops].

You’ll often be attacked by a main demon along with less effective enemies and if you’re smart enough to kill the main attacker first, just press X to take the special weapon and finish the rest of the enemies very quickly and easily.

Cons:

• Lengthy cut scenes.

• While dodging has always been an important factor for any [hack-n-slash game], Bayonetta seems to [put] too much [emphasis] on it.

In certain cases, you have to wait for the enemies to attack you, dodge carefully, get the witch time and start hitting them [again].

I [however] prefer to take them on pretty much straightforward with decent amount of dodges.

Bottom Line

Any gamer who is a fan of hack n slash type game will not find any serious [faults] in Bayonetta. [It gets challenging but interesting in the later chapters – you get to pilot a missile!].

Bayonetta impressed me [with] fantastic storytelling, interesting characters, splendid environment, newer type of enemies with quick combats.

[However there is a] little disappointment like lengthy cinematics and excessive dependency on evading

Bayonetta is one hell of a game.

Overall score: 8.3/10

Expert Tips To Beat Bayonetta:

• Be careful when you’re fighting off Jeanne, not because she’s tough. Unlike the other boss fights you’ll get no benefits of checkpoints during fighting [her].

If you get [killed] by her in any of the phases, you have to start it back again (except for the last time you defend her). The key to fight her successfully is having items and using them throughout the battle.

And do not forget to attack her repeatedly because once you get the chance to hit her the very first time, she gets almost stunned and thus give you the opportunity to unleash combos on her.

• Grace and Glory in Chapter VI, Verse 4: The most difficult part of Bayonetta that will earn respect from [any] serious gamers

Once you manage to defeat Grace and Glory- don’t relax because another pair of these enemies will [immediately] attack!

Bayonetta Grace and Glory

• The most useful combo I found on this game is pressing Y 5 times. It works like a charm and does a lot of damage

• Many gamers and critics say Kinship is the least interesting or easiest type of enemy introduced in Bayonetta.I want to remind you [that] when you first encounter these ships try as much as you can to avoid the blazing fast bullets they trigger at you.

Inventory management: Throughout the game I did not care much about unnecessarily expensive weapons and accessories. From time to time I bought items and techniques, and concentrated more on combating the demons.

  4. @sng,

then you must love it, at first you might think this is very easy, after 4/5 chapters it’ll gettin worth and challening to play..if you need to know any tactics you can check my review…

I never did any review for any game-infact when I started playin games with my permanent rigs/setup I could not think someday I can post my tactics or techniques and thoughts on the games I played- gaming wiz allowed me to express my thoughts on games. 🙂

From the experience of playing different type of games- specially in hackn slash type games I have seen different people have different strategy to beat the bosses..it is quite unique you know….

I had fun and totally different approaches to fight the major segments/bosses in MGS 4 and RE 5 but damn, Gamers World BD was sleepin time to time.

It needs to be kept alive so that effective gamers can put what they have done with the games. 😉

  5. AFAIK, Capcom do not have any plans to announce next DMC installment soon. Instead DMC Creator Hideki Kamiya plans to crete bayonetta 2.

  6. Great stuff i have 1000gs on it. Hopefully there is gonna be a sequel with less retarded music 😀

  7. @TheSituation

Really, It must have been hard to achieve then…
