Gamersworldbd @ Dhaka International Trade Fair 2010

Gamersworldbd recently took a visit to Dhaka International Trade Fair 2010 to bring our readers exclusive coverage of the technology displayed there.

As usual, it was really overcrowded but it was good to see electronics taking up a big portion of the fair each year. We were most attracted to the LCD showcases and the Wimax internet pavilions. The general public had great interest in Wimax internet connectivity and it was heard to get a brochure even (let alone a spot to test the internet speed). Good to see Bangladeshi people adopting Wimax.

Banglalion Wimax @ DITF 2010

Banglalion Wimax had the biggest stall whereas Qubee Wimax was situated with only 1 laptop in a corner of the Transcom (Phillips) showroom. However, Banglalion had limited their net speeds to 512 kbps and we were unimpressed.

Qubee Wimax @ DITF 2010

Although Qubee did not have a glamorous stall as Banglalion, however we were blown away by the 1 Mbps connection there. Watching live internet TV, game trailers and videos was a blast without any stuttering. We tried our luck and viewed some hi-def clips, but it was too much for the 1 Mbps connection to stream.

Pictured is my friend browsing Gamersworldbd.com 🙂 (On a side note, we wanted to change every homepage to Gamersworldbd.com but decided against it )

Panasonic @ DITF 2010

Panasonic also had an impressive showroom. Of note is the silver Viera LCD TV, along with a white salwar-kameez model to pose along (not pictured). The Viera was priced around Tk 6 lac and the home theater cost around Tk 1.2 lac.

Phillips (Transcom) @ DITF 2010

Phillips LCD TV is gaining good reputation and Transcom had an impressive stall to wow visitors. We were really impressed with Phillips’ home theater system, the sound quality just rocked our visit.

Samsung @ DITF 2010

Samsung is the best to way to go for good quality at an unbeatable price.

Sony @ DITF 2010

Last but not certainly the least is Sony’s Bravia line of LCD. If you’ve got money to burn then no other LCD will give you the picture quality. I must add, I’m really impressed with my 46″ Bravia Z series (one of only two in Bangladesh, that was displayed at last year’s trade fair).

However, Sony’s (Rangs) showroom was a bit overcrowded and small in size.

Hope you enjoyed our coverage of Dhaka International Trade Fair 2010 and stay tuned for more!

  1. Jose review…

  2. @Nasif

    Thanks 🙂

  3. Very very useful, detailed and cool description of DITF at a gamer’s eye.

    Gamers World BD rocks!

Amongst the TVs, Samsung one is attracted me.

As I told ya Mushfiq I almost lost interest in (traditional) LCD TV- the world is whirlin g up in LED (Backlit) LCD TV.

The samsung ones in this feature must be the LED ones. LED is a big giant step up on LCDs.

And most recently I am really excited about 3D HD TV- Sony introduced it’s nu LED 3D TV- ZX1.

And to my wonder nVidia 3D Glasses were avaialble for sometime on IDB!!!!!!! Though they require specific LCD 3D monitors.

And finally I thank avatar to push this hype up to such limit.

Though some of the total internet readers sed they’ve headache issues while wearing goggles to watch 3D. 😐

  4. picture says thousand words 😀 .. thanks to The Gaming Wiz/Mushfiqur Rahman

hav to go trade fair .. cant manage time .. quite busy with gaming .. lol

  5. @ Reza

😯 Wow, 3D goggles in IDB? That was faster than I expected. Anyway, for those Nvidia goggles to work, you need a 120Hz display (LCD or LED). My Bravia Z only outputs at 60 Hz (there is the motion flow @ 120/200Hz but I’m not sure whether it will work).

And yes, 3D goggles give you headache but manufacturers say they have reduced this effect.

LED looks better than LCD because LED has a higher contrast ratio. But I use the Bravia as my PC’s monitor so I cannot turn up the backlight since it hurts. However, when I’m gaming from quite a distance, I crank the settings up.

    @pollob

My pleasure, Gamersworldbd plans on covering more BD shows in the future.

  6. Glad Sony brought ZX 1 (3D HD LED Backlit) at 40 or 46″..voole gasi..anyways, soon other manufacturers will come up with their 3D stuffs as well.

From BG Gamers forums, I have heard while using 3D goggles it will reduce the refresh rate half the original- 50 FPS to 25…. 🙁

  7. @Reza

Yes, it does. But you won’t be able to get 3D out of a 50Hz monitor. They only work with the 120Hz monitor and reduces it to 60 Hz.

Most people complain that 3D cause headaches, and it is because of the low refresh rate. Try using your PC for 1-2 hours at 30Hz and you’ll see what I mean. 😉

  8. got the point, so if it comes down from 120 to 60 Hz that should not be a problem- I mean it’ll still be satisfyin…

    I’ll neva run it @ 30 Hz..LMAO. ❗ ❗

  9. @Wiz
I got a pair of realD polarized 3D glasses. I bought it from USA, to play black ops, in 3D. But it’s not working with my samsung B2230h 🙁
I wan’t to play the game’s on 3D! Avatar, Black ops, and upcoming crysis 2.
Plz help me out, what i can get in cheap to play these game’s in 3D?
Possible if available in DITF2010.. i need to get one.
    My max budget is 1lac.

guy’s can you suggest me any 3D tv or projector or monitor where i can play the black ops in 3D.. also the Avater in 3D. and in my budget..

I know black ops 3D out put is side by side stereoscopic 3D, but i don’t know which i can get in the price to play this 🙁

    help me out 😡

  10. @PlushGaming360

Your Samsung B2230h does not support 3D as far as I could find out. In addition, if you’re playing on the PC, you need a 3D capable card. More details of 3D Nvidia cards and monitor/projectors at http://www.nvidia.com/object/3d-vision-requirements.html

AMD Radeon has a similar option dubbed HD3D @ http://www.amd.com/us/products/technologies/amd-hd3d/Pages/hd3d.aspx

Remember to get a beefy video card. Enabling 3D essentially reduces game performance by half.

Unfortunately, I don’t know of any shops that sell 3D monitors. A few Sony 3D TVs arrived (my friend has one) but it’s unlikely you’ll find them anytime soon. Your only option is to import.
