Mass Effect Movie? BioWare Says There Is “Tremendous Interest”

If you can’t get enough of Mass Effect, BioWare has good news. Mass Effect just might get lit up in the silver screen.

Casey Hudson, Mass Effect 2 project director has said in an interview with MTV:

“Obviously we have a tremendous amount of interest from people in Hollywood to make a major motion picture about Mass Effect.

The most important thing for us is, we don’t just want to see a movie get made. We want to see a great movie get made, if it’s going to get done at all.

We’re just looking at our options there, but waiting to make sure we have something really right before we do it”

Mass Effect Movie? Possibly

What that means is possibility of a Mass Effect movie but there is no rush at the moment. Mass Effect has been touted to be the best cinematic role playing experience, so an actual cinema about Mass Effect sounds good.

BioWare is considering their options to make sure it gets done right. After all, you don’t want to upset your fans over a crappy movie right?

Mass Effect 2 will release on Xbox 360 and PC on Jan 26 2010 (US) and Jan 29 2010 (EU).

But Bangladeshi gamers don’t have to wait that long since it’s out right now. Expect to spend around 30 hours exploring the fantastic world of Mass Effect 2.

  1. in most of the cases movie-to-game or game-to-movie sucks

Even if this movie gets the go ahead, BioWare won’t be doing it. Some big name Hollywood producer will take the reins. At this time nothing is concrete, they are just exploring their options.

  3. Sigh…yeah, its amazaing how Hollywood can screw up excellent concepts and turn them into garbage.

I remember, when I was playing the first Max Payne game, I thought this story is perfect for a movie. But when the movie did come out,I was actually stunned by how bad it was. Angels? Mark Wahlberg? Aaaaaaaaaarghhhh!

Wow, the movie must be really crappy. So crappy in fact that I never even heard about it 😛

    Love Max Payne though.
