Pachter: New Xbox Accounted For 40 Percent of US Sales

By now you probably know Michael Pachter, the Wedbush Morgan analyst for video games and his own web-show.

Pachter has said that the new Xbox 360 Slim accounted for 40% of Microsoft’s overall sales in the US in June 2010.

The contributing factor has been the pride drop rather than the introduction of a new model, according to Pachter.

The Slim retails for $300 while the Elite (now discontinued) retailed for $400.

The analyst attributed 35% of sales to the Arcade model, which was reduced to $150 last month, and 25% of sales to the Elite model, which also reduced in price.
