The First Pictures Of AMD Radeon HD 6870 & 6850 Plus Details

AMD’s next generation HD 6xxx series is due to release in a few days and we’ve got the first pictures of AMD’s top-of-the-line HD 6870 and 6850 graphics cards below.

First off, the HD 6870.

According to Tested, there are two DVI ports, two mini Display Ports, and a singular HDMI port for a total of 5 video outputs in the 6870.

The board is estimated to be under 10.5″, his is still significantly shorter than the current-gen HD 5870, which measures 11.1″ (reference board), let alone the mighty 5970’s 13″ length.

The Radeon HD 6870 only requires two six-pin PCI-E power adapters.

The HD 6850 has the same video outputs as the 6870: two DVI ports, two mini DisplayPorts, and a singular HDMI port.

The 6850 is estimated to be 9″ long. The 6850 also requires only one six-pin PCI-E power connector.

So, in short, the new HD 6xxx series consumes less power and is manufactured using a 32nm process.

That’s all the info we could gather on the 6870 and 6850. No other specifications or prices have been released as of yet.
