Analyst: PlayStation Move Has “Sold Well Below Expectations”
Gaming industry analyst Michael Pachter has said that Sony’s PlayStation Move has “sold well below expectations”.
Move has sold one million units in North and Latin America in its first 30 days.
Michael Pachter said in a research note that “Move sold well below expectations in its first month” in the US, and NPD sales results for October suggest a “modest second month” performance.
“We estimate that Move has sold through approximately 400,000 units in the US in its first six weeks on the market,” Pachter wrote.
“Interestingly, the higher priced Kinect controller appears to have overtaken the Move controller in the sales race.”
Move seems to have performed better in Europe, with Sony claiming “somewhere in the region of 1.5 million” sales in its first month on the market.
Microsoft said yesterday that Kinect sold one million units globally in its first ten days of availability.

Sorry bro, but that ain’t right, Kinect sold well because it has a “controller-free gaming and entertainment experience” which is not available in PS Move. 😎 😎 It’s so shame and a pity that PS move users have to game with such a pesky wand, 😆 whereas in Kinect you can do it with your hands free(and with style) 😎 It isn’t too far when Kinect will also have hardcore games on it, so all the PS3/Move fanboys should back off as Kinect’s going to take you guys off in style! 😈 😈 😈 😎

do u guys know how laggy and frustrating kinect can be.It has some major detection issues and doesnt give u 1:1 feedback unlike move which is the most precise motion gaming peripheral on the market 😛 unlike kinect move gives us the 1:1 experience without lag which is fun and realistic too pull off.Move main capacity is the controller not the camera and the camera just detects the wand motion in 3d to give better feedback i.e better sensibility.And i dont need voice recognition feature its more casual than hardcore you all xbox 360 fanboys are casual/noob anyways 😛 😆

Still your point isn’t strong enough, 😆 you are being too old fashioned with your Playstation Move, what’s the purpose of motion controlled gaming when you have to express or manifest your motions with a controller? 😆 😆 Besides, why convey your orders to your motion-sensing device through a controller in PS Move when you can do it with your mouth so easily in Kinect? All of this means that Kinect is the stuff which is soooo Superior.

You really can’t compare your PS Move with the Kinect. There are so many differences in between them. Kinect users can really enjoy and experience the original motion controlled gaming while the PS Move users have to dance around with their pesky wand and act dumb in front of their PS eyes. 😆 😆

The difference between kinect and move is you hold something whereas in kinect you dont.Holding something makes sense and gives the hardcore gamers their core rapport.And where do kinect users dance in dance central behind kinect’s back? 😆 kinect is so good that you must stand in a fixed position to work or it will lose it calibration and kinect can never give u 1:1 true feedback but can give u noobs lag 😛 cuz noobs are extensively experienced playing in laggy computers and xbox 360 so its like the perfect thing for the noob to be noobing around and say what does this button do 😆 actually there is no buttons 😆 you mimes 😛 We have killzone 3 MUHUHUHAHAHAHAHHA 😆 😆 😆 with complete Playstation Move support in ur fact 😛

Holding a pesky wand doesn’t make you a hardcore gamer. Hardcore gaming needs hardcore gaming skills and in Kinect it’s all hardcore as you play without a controller. Kinect is clearly superior than Move because Move only sort of enhanced the Wii’s technology and made it into a colourful light-bulb 😆 whereas Kinect revolutionized motion-gaming by introducing a controller-less experience which has never been done before so..It’ll forever have it’s mark as the first complete motion gaming platform unlike Move where you have to wave a lightbulb at the TV 😆

Well, Sony does deserve much respect than that because the PS3 is a robust console with Blu-ray and slightly better graphics with many other features so basically it’s a powerhouse whereas the 360 is only built for video-gaming and I don’t need to mention how many boundaries Sony has broken with the all-time greatest console(to me) the PS2….they might have copied the Wii’s technology but they are a very consistent and talented bunch although I don’t like the idea of those lightbulbs 😛 one way or the other The console War will always rage on!

I do respect Sony and I had each and every console released by Sony till now (PS1, PS2 PSP and PS3). I’m simply doing this for fun and to contradict Rabbi’s fanboyism which is really pissing us off here on GWB. As I’ve previously said, Kinect users are the hardcore gamers and hardcore gamers don’t jump around in their houses like a monkey. quite honestly, PS move is just an HD remake of Wii!! OH almost forgot it also comes with colourful bulbs on top of it!!
