Mass Effect 2 On PS3, New Details Revealed
New details have been released for Mass Effect 2 PS3 as to what we can expect from the title.
The BluRay disc of Mass Effect 2 will include (obviously) the game, as well as Lair of the Shadow Broker, Project Overlord, Kasumi: Stolen Memory and the Blood Dragon Armour.
Other than that, it will also include an access code to the Cerberus Network which will enable you to download for free DLCs such as Zaeed and Firewalker.
Since PS3 users won’t be getting the first Mass Effect, the backstory will be presented through an interactive comic.
This is what the producer, Jesse Houston, had to say on the Bioware forums “We’ve talked briefly about the Interactive Comic. BioWare Edmonton (the group that made Mass Effect 2) teamed up with the fine folks at Dark Horse Comics to create an interactive backstory. While I can’t release all the details about this yet, what I can tell you is that we want to create a stunning visual experience that not only tells the core story elements of Mass Effect 1, but also is fully interactive allowing you to be faced with some of the major choices which will have consequences your Mass Effect universe. This interactive comic’s initial release will be exclusive to PS3 owners who would be otherwise unable to realize the full effect of choice in the Mass Effect universe and will be included on the Cerberus Network.”
The developers promise that they are not taking any shortcuts” Oftentimes when you got to the PS3 you see stuff like down-resing and using a smaller than 720p resolution to try and get back some of the framerate. We haven’t done that says producer Jesse Houston, we really wanted to try to make it as good, if not better than the Xbox version.”
The PS3 version will also feature 3 years worth of engine updates and every patch release for the game.
Mass Effect 2 will release on the PS3 in January 2011.

I’m more interested in the “6+ hours of exclusive ps 🙄 3 gameplay”

@GamerKid
Don’t know how the Xbox 360 fans will react to that. If BioWare makes 6+ hours of exclusive gamplay (don’t care which platform) I’ll be pissed since I have to play it from the beginning again. Maybe the exclusive content relates to some part from Mass Effect 1?
