Square Enix Trademarks Tomb Raider “A Survivor Is Born”

Recently, details had surfaced about a new Tomb Raider open world reboot, with the phrase “A Survivor Is Born”.

Looks like that game will materialize soon as Square Enix (the publisher of Tomb Raider games since they acquired Eidos) has trademarked the words “A Survivor Is Born” in Europe and North America.

According to leaked details, you get to control an “inexperienced” Lara Croft on a mysterious and dangerous island off the coast of Japan occupied by “mysterious enemies” bent on killing her.

This game will mostly be about exploration and survival. It appears that the game would follow a progression similar to Metroid‘s, requiring the acquisition of new items to unlock areas.
