Ubisoft Will Keep Making Assassin’s Creed For As Long As They Can
Speaking in an interview, Assassin’s Creed producer Vincent Pontbriand has said that they plan to keep the Assassin’s Creed series going for as long as they can.
“We take one game at a time,” he said, discussing whether an ending to the Assassin’s Creed story was already sealed.
“It needs to be a commercial success in order to finance the next one. If we’re allowed to we’ll try to keep it going for as long as it interests people.”
The Assassin’s Creed series has already sold a total of 20 million units, but Ponbriand believes it has even bigger places to go. “Our universe is still young but it is growing every year,” he continued. “We’re opening doors like multiplayer, setting it on the Templar side of the universe and we already have done some books, comics and games on other platforms.
“It’s growing and if we’re smart we can diversify even more and really make this into an epic franchise.”

they said its [assassins creed] a triology before so only spin offs like assassins creed brotherhood can keep the series alive before it goes into conclusion!

Why do they(Ubisoft) keep saying the same thing again and again?
The Franchise’s creative director Patrice Désilets already said that a year ago in an interview on E3 2009. I remember he said something like they are gonna make Assassin’s Creed games as long as they can and as long as the fans appreciate it.
