Naughty Dog: “We’re Not Done With Drake”
There you go, if you are wondering Uncharted series’ star Nathan Drake’s adventure may come to an end any time soon, then put all those imaginations to rest as Naughty Dog’s game director Justin Richmond has told Edge Magazineabout the studio’s reluctance to “reboot” its flagship series – or retire their main man.
“You see it in the movies, they constantly reboot things you just saw ten years ago. You’re like: “Wait a minute. I just saw that!”
“Spider-Man is just ridiculous. It’s something you have to be careful of with any kind of creative endeavour, and the lure to reinvent yourself is always there.”
“But one good thing is that we feel we’re not done with Drake yet; we haven’t done all we wanted to do, and there are still technical hurdles and goals we want to get over, and do even more stuff in gameplay… We’re very cogniscent of the legacy of what Drake is, and that every game should advance the story and the genre.”
This indicates the encrusted gruff hero may yet head up Uncharted 4 in the future.
Though while Drake’s appearance in Uncharted 4 is still up in the air, it is currently confirmed that he is definitely be making a return in Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception which was announced last month in the VGAs and is due to be released in November later this year.
It is also confirmed that Uncharted 3 is going to be set in the Arabian desert and will support high resolution stereoscopic 3D which more than meets the eye.
