New Resistance 3 Gameplay Trailer Shows Chimeras Causing Chaos

[Update]: Sony has released a new and a longer gameplay video of Resistance 3 following the release of the previous trailer.

The new video is a four-minute extended version of the trailer that was released previously.

Sony has released a new gameplay trailer for Resistance 3, which gives us a short but exciting look at the chaos the Chimeras will be causing in Insomniac’s upcoming shooter.

The trailer came after an Insomniac press event in London at which it showed off its latest work with the shooter.

“The Resistance 3 demo takes place in Haven, Oklahoma. Our new hero, former Sentinel Joseph Capelli, has taken up arms with his fellow Haven citizens to defend the town from Chimeran forces,” says Insomniac about the demo version it showed to press.

“The fighters are trying to buy enough time for an evacuation of Haven, as a Chimeran terraformer is closing on the city and threatens to wipe it off the map. As the battle wages on and the terraformer nears, you see the wind begin to pick up… and then the Chimeran Brawler arrives to turn the tide of the battle.”

The trailer takes the player into the middle of a battlefield which you can watch below:

Resistance 3 is set to release on this September 6 2011 on the PS3.
