The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt Preview, PS4 May Have DRM On Used Games, Xbox One AMD Deal Costs $3 BIllion

Regular readers here at Gamersworldbd will know how big an RPG fan I am. So, it’s no surprise that I am really excited about The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt and I’m going to get you excited too. Head on over to PCG’s massive 3 page preview and tell me you’re not excited about it. Go on ahead now.

Next up, the used games market is in a world of big hurt. Or going to be. That’s because Sony is considering placing DRMs for used games. You may have to fork over cash to Sony if you want to play second hand games on the PS4.

The gaming community has already went up in arms trying to persuade Sony to do otherwise.

Sony execs have already responded by saying how “passionate” a fan base we are. What they still haven’t confirmed however, is whether the PS4 will actually have used game DRMs.

By now we know that the Xbox One will have an AMD CPU inside it. And if you don’t, maybe you should be keeping a closer eye on Gamersworldbd. Anyway, the deal has been valued at over $3 billion. We like big numbers. Especially when it concerns “billions” and “money”.

Finally, remember how a certain someone (hint: E and A) said that the Xbox One is more powerful than the PC? Now another certain someone says that’s not the case. That certain someone is Mark Rein, Epic games VP.

Till next time.

  1. I haven’t been this excited since the days following up to Mass Effect 3, both previous games were extraordinary and this one will be a truly epic finale to Geralt’s saga. Also, looking forward to meeting Yennefer :3

Glad to have you back bro! I’m waiting for the old team at Gamersworldbd to return. And yes, its got me super excited but I lack the free time to play games now. This means more AAA titles for me while small, indie gems or even average games fall on the wayside. But looking back at Witcher 2, I have the utmost faith in CDProjektRed and this game will be nothing short of a 9. And Mass Effect, good old memories…….[always a gamer at heart]………

  3. It’s great to be back 😀 immersed in nostalgia already at the thought. that’s a shame, but what games have you been playing recently? I’m currently playing Metro Last Light in that 5$ DLC difficulty setting (which I must say is absurd 5$ for difficulty?) and it is quite challenging, I’m stuck at one point however 😛 don’t have any ammo left to progress so I’ll have to start a new game, 10 hours gone to waste. Did you fancy the controversial ending of ME3?

  4. @GamerKid

Well I’m obviously forgetting a couple of the games but I’ve been playing tons of Skyrim! There’s so much to explore and do in that world and with 90+ mods its a totally different game and looks better than Crysis 3. I’ve also been playing Far Cry 3. Oh and I finished DMC and I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it.

When my uni semester is over, I look forward to ACIII, Tomb Raider Hitman Absolution, Bioshock Infinite all of which I have on Steam atm.

As for the ME3 ending don’t get me started……. but the journey was worth it. I got upset at that time but now looking back at it…. it’s BioWare’s game and they can end it however well they like. I played with the extended ending DLC and it wasn’t that bad. But my main gripe is that after spending so many years and replaying the games twice and making sure that I took the best choices but the ending didn’t reflect any of that. But has it lowered my opinion of the Mass Effect series? No way.

  5. @The Gaming Wiz

How about Tomb Raider? Crystal Dynamics did a great job with that game and don’t skip XCOM Enemy Unknown, I had a great time with it and we can play multiplayer on Tunngle sometimes. Far Cry 3 eventually got my GoTY for 2012 although it narrowly beat Dishonored. Both were immense.

A word of caution: Do not expect a good game in ACIII, the series’ standards have fallen alarmingly, it’s safe to categorize the AC franchise like CoD. Very disappointed on that one, didn’t even bother to complete it but you might like it. I’m currently playing Bioshock 1 and 2 because I wanted the momentum to be good when I start Infinite. Hitman Absolution is absolutely brilliant, I had so much freedom to approach the objectives and targets.

I’m 100% with you on the Mass Effect thing, it’s their game and every story doesn’t have to have a good ending right? Mass Effect will forever be one of my most loved series. I hope you get done with your semester soon so that you can get back on track 😉

Finished Dishonored – one really original game and you don’t see much originality nowadays since publishers like to play it safe. I’ve been a huge Lara Croft fan since the Legends reboot and looking forward to it (I even pre-ordered it and Infinite).

And I’m sorry to hear that about ACIII – had high hopes for it even though I didn’t finish Brotherhood and didn’t even bother with Revelations. Hope Black Flag will fare better.

But I’m pissed that after spending so much time, caring so much and getting so attached to a franchise that they had to throw up that ending. But in the end it’s their game. I’m not upset because [spoiler] Shepard dies [/end spoiler] but the fact that no matter what choices you made throughout the game and the trilogy, you basically get three endings.

I really wanted to believe that there is a 4th ending and the facts seemed to point towards it (indoctrination theory and it would be super awesome if the game actually built up towards it) but Bioware eventually said no

  7. If you’d ask me that when I was growing up, which game/franchise had the most impact on me and it would have to be Mass Effect and The Elder Scrolls game. Never have I found so much satisfaction as a gamer and in general from these two franchises. I can safely say that 30 years from now on I can fondly look back and recall these two franchises with a twinkle in my eye. And I don’t think that any other game will be able to capture my imagination, even if they are way better than ME and Elder Scrolls. That’s because after a certain age, some things don’t seem to have the same emotional impact as it did once you were growing up, be it movies, games, relationships, etc.
