You can rest easy now. Gears of War 3 has a release date – September 20 2011 is the date Gears of War 3 releases worldwide according to Microsoft’s Graeme Boyd. Except for Japan where it releases on the 22nd.

Sony: Profitability More Important Than Overtaking Xbox 360

Sony is more concerned with profitability than with PS3 surpassing Xbox 360 sales. That’s according to PlayStation software brand manager Scott McCarthy, who told IndustryGamers that Sony is following the Nintendo approach to business, rather than focusing too much on what the competition is up to. An anonymous source has told Everything HQ that Sony is ‘already deep in development’ of a new PS3 SKU that isn’t susceptible to recent system security exploits. The hack-proof model is said to be a slim PS3 boasting a 300GB hard drive. The report claims it will cost £186.99. Read more here.
