Slim Xbox 360 Claims Its First Victim, Scratched Disc Video
Here’s a bit of sensible advice: don’t move your console with the game disc still spinning in the drive. Otherwise, it will look really familiar to the one in the video below.
A Destructoid editor lifted up a slim Xbox 360 while it was still playing Alan Wake. Needless to say, it messed up the disc really bad. Guess he hadn’t read the warnings.
Thanks to Gamersworldbd reader Rabbi for the tip.

thanks bro for the info.
So do you think Valhalla is going to be better than Jasper ?
Jun 21st, 2010 at 10:47 pm
well im still not sure about the Valhalla if its real i don’t know much about the chipsets ..do u think the new chip set is gonna be better than the Jasper?

@xlivnt
Newer motherboard designs usually iron out the previous problems. However, Valhalla (aka Xbox 360 slim) is the newest form factor motherboard. Since many components have shrunk in size, it will lead to lower heat and more efficiency. This will give better reliability (as a general rule). Then again, due to this being the first small form-factor size there may be unforseen issues 😯
Anyway, you need not worry. I have the Jasper unit (aka Elite) and after 1.5 years of heavy gaming, including leaving the 360 turned on over night for background downloads, running on generator power when the electricity is out and the multiplug of the Xbox 360 getting fried (somehow the Xbox 360 still ran with the failed multiplug), I have yet to experience issues with my Xbox. But I haven’t had my 360 modded and I know that bad modding techniques are usually a problem of RRoD in Bangladesh.

@ xlivnt
The Gaming Wiz has already answered your question in detail.In short newer chipsets means better cooling and reliability.The xbox 360 slim is a redesigned motherboard and it shouldn’t rrod or grod (cuz no red lights in slim 360) in theory.So get the new xbox 360 slim as long as you have the chance and i am perfectly sure you wont regret it :mrgreen:.

@Rabbi and The Gaming Wiz – Thanks for the info and ur right it wont rrod it will show a red dot in the power of there is any problem.
And more thing The Gaming Wiz-
Since you have downloaded a lots of thing from xbox live.
Are maximum number of the demos time limited ?
And are you download it do u still require the internet to play the demo ?
Since the mod will come several months later
im planning to fill the xbox 360 with some demo in the mean time
Jun 22nd, 2010 at 10:51 pm
sorry there is a problem in the second question
i meant
after you download it do u still require internet connection to play the demo ?
Jun 22nd, 2010 at 11:55 pm
@xlivnt
Nope, you can play demos for as long as you want without an internet connection. If you take your hard drive and attach it to another console, you have to sign in to Xbox Live to play demos, access DLCs and downloads.
Jun 24th, 2010 at 11:55 am
@The Gaming Wiz
How long does it take you to download a 1gb demo?
Jun 24th, 2010 at 2:36 pm
@xlivnt
It depends on your internet connection’s download speed, If you have a decent internet connection, Then you won’t be having any problem downloading those demos.
Jun 24th, 2010 at 5:27 pm
@xlivnt
I’m on Qubee’s 1 Mbps connection, so downloading 1GB takes around 2.5 hours.
However, it takes a bit longer while downloading from Xbox Live.
Jun 24th, 2010 at 8:10 pm
@sng425
correct
@The Gaming Wiz
Cool. I get about 2 Mbps at midnight.
Well one thing i hate about the Qubee network most of the packages which is over 2 Mbps is limited. My one isn’t as i don’t use Qubee.
Jun 24th, 2010 at 8:29 pm
@ xlivnt
whats ur ISP bro?
(Thats some sweet speeds your getting)
Jun 24th, 2010 at 8:30 pm
you are*
Jun 24th, 2010 at 10:53 pm
@xlivnt
Cool bro, what ISP is yours? All Qubess packages over 1 Mbps are limited, I can only download 20 gigs a month.
Anyway by 2 Mbps you mean you are getting close to 260 KB/s constant at night? Sweet. How much are you paying?
Jun 25th, 2010 at 12:47 am
@ Rabbi & The Gaming Wiz
My ISP is BTTB bros.
It’s broadband but unfortunately i don’t live in Dhaka i live in Ghatail Cantonment. But if you use the same BTTB in Dhaka you could not get this speed as the traffic and numbers of user in Ghatail Cantt is less when compared to Dhaka. I used the same BTTB ISP in Dhaka and i did not get this much speed. The fees for the net in both Dhaka and Ghatail is same.
And yes i do get constantly around 220 KB/S at mid night , i also get around 150 KB/s around noon but the speed is slightly slow in the evening at that time i get around 60 KB/s, before it was much more faster but still i’m satisfied.
I pay tk.800 for the net connection which doesn’t have any limits. So u must be wondering why so less for this speed .. well the answer is there is no guarantee of the amount speed it all depands on the amount of users.
Even if my net is giving me 20 kb/s i have to accept it .
Have look at my best result according to speedtest.net http://www.speedtest.net/rank/2066824242.png
Jun 25th, 2010 at 10:56 pm
@xlivnt
Man, you are one lucky gamer with a fast connection 😛
What ping do you get? I’ve read that most pings on BTTB connections are a bit slow.
Jun 25th, 2010 at 11:17 pm
@ xlivnt
nice speeds and value of course and kinda ironic when compared to whole bangladesh.Anyway the speeds are good enough to get you a game demo through xbox live within 2-3 hrs 😛
Jun 26th, 2010 at 12:12 am
@Rabbi
Yeah, it seems kinda ironic, but xlivnt is right. You’ll do get download speed like that if you live in those areas. One of my relative lives down in the ctg cantonment, And he also has an internet connection from Bttb and likewise he also gets the same speed like xlivnt is getting. The speed is not dedicated, though. But you’ll still get a hell lot of speed. 😛
And the most amazing thing is you don’t even have to pay high for that. But you do have to be lucky enough to live in those areas, I guess. 🙁
Jun 26th, 2010 at 10:13 am
@ sng425
For the time being i agree 😐
Bro,when are we getting some of ur excellent reviews (i hope its sooner rather than later)?
Jun 26th, 2010 at 8:03 pm
well your correct guys. But when my dad gets posted out of Ghatail cantt the fun will end…
And the ping of BTTB isnt bad
