Readers Respond: Will You Stop Playing Pirated Games If Originals Cost Only 600TK?
Readers Respond is a brand new feature in Gamersworldbd where you get to voice your opinion on the most pressing gaming issues in Bangladesh and worldwide.
Once a week, Gamersworldbd will post a new topic and provide both arguments: for and against. You, the readers, get to choose one side and debate it over at the comments section below.
Today’s topic: Will You Stop Playing Pirated Games If Originals Cost Only 600TK?
Yes! Of Course
The main reason we don’t (or can’t) buy original games is the price. Original PC games cost $50 (Tk 3,500) and console games $60 (TK 4,200). Moreover, the original PS3 and Xbox 360 games that we buy now cost more than that, newer games cost substantially more.
There are certainly lots of people who play original games. PS3 owners exclusively play original games since a PS3 mod chip isn’t widely available.
So, yes, we can afford to. But if prices dropped to around TK 600 per game, I’m sure there are many of you out there who will instantly jump on the offer.
There are lots of benefits to playing originals. Firstly, the ability to play online. Then there are patches and community features.
Today, games are getting harder to crack. Using a crack isn’t as simple as copy pasting a exe file. With the advent of Steam and more stringent measures by Sony and Microsoft, playing pirated games is a big headache.
Pirated PC games are notoriously unreliable, sometimes they simply do not install, sometimes the PC can’t read the disc.
Sometimes crackers do such a sloppy job that the game is buggy and performance is decreased. And once a new patch comes, we have to wait a long time till another crack is released.
The developers and publishers can benefit too from increased sales and revenue. They can publish games specially for developing countries at a reduced price (EA has an online Indian games store where most cost around Rs. 1000). Maybe ditch the fancy packaging or open an online only store to reduce costs.
By playing originals, you are supporting the developers and ensure they stay in business.
And did I mention the attraction of opening a shiny new original game?
No, probably not
Still, Tk 600 is a lot of money. DVD games cost around Tk 50. So with that money you can get 12 1-DVD games. If prices were reduced, the major benefit will be to console gamers. And PC is still the most common gaming platform in Bangladesh.
Then there are internet issues. Playing games online in Bangladesh is a nightmare. And if there was a download-only online game store, downloading those games will take days on a slow net connection. Compared to going to your local CD store and paying Tk 100 for the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops.
Or those with high net speeds can head on to torrent sites and start downloading it for free, sometimes even before the official release date.
Then there is the problem of persuading game companies in the first place to release their games in developing countries. They may justify that the market in Bangladesh just isn’t big enough to sell original games at Tk 600.
So, what do you think?
Oct 12th, 2010 at 12:12 am
Yeah absolutely for genuine advantage features 600tk is good value for money as we can get the pirated without all available features for 60tk per game.That will keep the genuine market alive as value for the money is what everyone crave.Not only pc we need console games to come up and make a line with two gamer groups then.Softwares are already there like kaspersky going without a fancy packaging just including the genuine software in a simple paper made box with a cheap manual and the disk.
Oct 12th, 2010 at 11:37 am
@Rabbi
Yes, the antivirus market in BD is a prime example. I think the main reason for their success is the fact that you can’t update cracked antivirus software online (at least some). And antivirus cracks themselves contain viruses sometimes! 😈
Oct 12th, 2010 at 3:29 pm
yes.. i have finally signed up.. any way i have been regularly visiting your site.. sorry for being off topic but amar kichu prosno ase..-
a) where can u buy original pc games? i have a modded xbxo 360 but i want to play online.. got the 512kbps banglalion…
b) how good is the ati radeon hd 5670 for gaming at 1024*768?
c) are there any users from sylhet? will you exchange games?
Oct 12th, 2010 at 3:31 pm
@Rabbi
“Softwares are already there like kaspersky going without a fancy packaging just including the genuine software in a simple paper made box with a cheap manual and the disk.”
Likewise, if the game developers also do the same for their games, I’m sure a lot of people will buy the original games as they do with the genuine anti-virus products.
Oct 12th, 2010 at 3:38 pm
oh.. one more thing can you actually buy games online from bangladesh?? do they arrive? gonna get a international credit by the next few weeks. 😕 😛
Oct 12th, 2010 at 4:00 pm
ofcourse we would buy originals for 600tk…. well i used to buy lotsa playbox 360 games b4…. n now that i cashed in for 250gb slim…. im really feeling the prices 🙁 …. been saving for weeks… gonna get a copy of Halo reach 1 day 🙄 … but a very enlightning article!! if only we gamers of BD could take a joint enitiative to bring gaming to masses for affordable prices!!!
Oct 12th, 2010 at 6:09 pm
well yeah we might buy some original with tk 600.
But the thing is you can play online with pirated xbox 360 games, but a original game is always good…
Oct 12th, 2010 at 7:04 pm
@x360assassin
It’s good to hear from another Gamersworldbd reader! Now, I gotta ask you this: What took you so long to sign up? 😛
a) If you want to buy original games PC and download, head to store.steampowered.com Awesome store, I bought all original PC games from them. Beats having to pay shipping charges.
More info @ http://www.gamersworldbd.com/2010/01/where-to-buy-original-games-in-bangladesh.html
Another such store is Play-Asia.com (all console games, all regions). More info @ http://www.gamersworldbd.com/2010/01/play-asia-review.html
Congrats on getting the international credit card! 😛 Almost 90% of packages get lost by Bangladesh Post Office. I always use courier (DHL/FedEx).
Mainly buy through Amazon.com and use a shipping company in New York that ships games via courier. Arrives within 3-4 days.
About online games. You most certainly will face NAT problems. Even if you have a fast connection. This problem is not related with internet speeds. Consoles are mainly affected, and you cannot see other online gamers or cannot join their games. 😈 😡
B) Radeon HD 5670 is very good and at 1024X768, you can run most games with high graphics.
Oct 12th, 2010 at 7:06 pm
@Pagla07
Congrats on the Slim! I’ve been eyeing that one but have no reason to upgrade (except for looks) as I already have the Elite. Btw I play all original games on consoles. Add me, Xbox Live ID: TUSHAR451
Oct 12th, 2010 at 9:43 pm
thanks for the quick reply..
as usual i have already read those articles.. and i know about the horror of the bangladesh mail service.. in fact i am ready to pay for fedex as long as the good arrives.. 😉 could u do a how-to-article on that..i beleive many bd gamers would appreciate that.
anyway i have played fifa 10 online with my 512kbps wimax.. ping was at random.. starting from 300ms to 1000ms.. it was not lagless 👿 but playable. . however i beleive that if we bagladeshi gamers play together.. i think the pings will be much lower..could you get some gamersworldbd readers to play together at certain time.. maybe once per week..
P.s- i really liked the f1 bd leaderboard..keep up the good job.
Oct 12th, 2010 at 9:47 pm
oh..forgot the main part.. instead of buying online isn’t it available as physical disks in dhaka..
how come original ps3 & x360games are imported whereas pc games are ignored? ❓ ..
one more question do you know the price of hd5670..here in sylhet they are asking 7.5k.. do you think this is reasonable..plz don’t ask me to get a better gpu.. my 400w psu has prevented from doing that & there is no chance of upgrading psu soon.. has anyone here actually used one .. if yes your opinions are welcome..
Oct 12th, 2010 at 10:00 pm
i know piracy is not approved here 😥 (at least until price falls to 600tk i approve piracy ❗ , especially for us bd gamers 😉 ).. but i just gotta ask this question.. is it possible to play the cracked/ pirated mw2 or mw or bfbc2 online on pc.. if possible than how..
Oct 13th, 2010 at 12:35 am
@x360assassin
well i dunno much bout pc cracked versions…. except that ppl in youtube keep swearing at em for using hacks n headshot trainers so im pretty sure its possible to go online with a cracked game…. i’ve done it on my Xbox360 (playbox baby!!!modded with LT!!)… i gota really crappy 128kbps line wich i pay 700tk for n well it worked it was laggy but it worked i played bout 30 matches n won 2(with alota killstreak help) check out some MW2 forums….
@The Gaming Wiz/Mushfiqur Rahman
thnx will come back online as soon as i get my slim modded…n will difinitly add u, hope to shoot some MW2 or Reach bro!!
Oct 13th, 2010 at 3:12 pm
@pagla07
i have a modded xbox 360.. not sure about the firmware.. but the drive is benq.. can you tell me how to not get banned by going on xbox live?
Oct 13th, 2010 at 5:40 pm
@x360assassin
It’s not possible to play pirated MW2 and BFBC2 online since the server checks your CD KEY. That said, you can use Hamachi to set up a LAN server over the internet and play with your friends.
That HD 5670 price seems okay and it is a really good graphics card. I asked in UCC, IDB Bhaban and they quoted me TK 9,500 for Sapphire HD 5670. What is your brand?
The only pirated PC games that work online to my knowledge is GRID and Burnout Paradise.
You can play pirated Xbox 360 game online but that is a real big risk. If MS catches you, you risk losing many functionality of your 360 like the ability to install games to HDD. I play all original console games, so, can’t help you on that one. However, sng425 may be able to help you.
Oct 13th, 2010 at 6:32 pm
@TheGamingWiz
i did play modern warfare online on private or cracked servers by the way on pc 😛
Oct 13th, 2010 at 6:37 pm
@ the gaming wiz
hd 5670 the brand is gigabyte
i have read about sng425 technique about the checking of pirated disks.. but that requires a dual layer dvd drive.. that’s impossible for me at present.. i have one question- do the multiplayer crack actually work for mw2 and bfbc2.. many youtube vids claim they do.. anyone used them..?? 😥
Oct 13th, 2010 at 7:03 pm
@Rabbi and x360assasin
Rabbi did answer your question in a way. I think those cracks work on private servers as he mentioned.
Many of my friends play World of Warcraft online on private/cracked servers without paying a dime. However, the experience is bad as most people on private (cracked) servers are rude and immature 😛
Oct 13th, 2010 at 7:24 pm
@TheGamingWiz
yeah, i agree also no teamwork either so i stopped playing it 😥
Oct 13th, 2010 at 7:37 pm
@rabbi
cud u plz brief me on that.. how did u do it? ❓
Oct 13th, 2010 at 7:40 pm
and wat about original pc disks (physical form).. arent they imported at all.. 😥 unbeleiveable!! ❗
Oct 13th, 2010 at 7:57 pm
@x360assasin
i did play Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare online on a cracked copy.
Check this link if u need instructions:

Cheers!
Oct 13th, 2010 at 8:03 pm
@x360assasin
“and wat about original pc disks (physical form).. arent they imported at all.. 🙁 unbeleiveable!! ❗ ”
Original pc games are not brought in cuz of the mass pirated games mantra in bd 👿 But soon it may all change for the better
Oct 13th, 2010 at 8:09 pm
@rabbi
thanks 😉 .. but i need to wait for two more days 🙁 .. my geforce 8400SE just died out.. gonna get the radeon hd 5670..thanks again..
Oct 13th, 2010 at 8:40 pm
@x360assasin
My pleasure i wish u a wonderful gaming experience in HD 😎
Oct 14th, 2010 at 12:29 am
@x360assasin
The Radeon HD 5670 is going to be perfect for you since you’re going to set the resolution at 1024×768. 🙂 I’m sure it’ll work like a charm even on high settings. But however, my Radeon HD 5570 can’t handle it when I switch to high settings on 1080p(1920×1080). And I can’t even lower the resolution since my monitor’s native resolution is 1920×1080, and therefore if I reduce the resolution the graphics become terrible. 👿
Anyway, I hope you get a decent performance from your HD 5670 once you buy it.
Oct 14th, 2010 at 1:10 pm
@sng425
wat about the latest games like medal of honour, black ops… will i be able to run them at high on 1024*768…???
Oct 14th, 2010 at 6:10 pm
@x360assasin
Ii should be, if I’m not wrong. My HD 5670 can run games on high settings at 720p(1280X720). But the only problem is, like I said, my monitor’s native resolution is 1080p(1920×1080), so if I reduce the resolution even a bit the graphics look terrible. 👿 😡 But since you’re going to run the games at 1024×768, I don’t think there will be any problem. But I still advise you to be sure before buying it.
Oct 14th, 2010 at 6:26 pm
*It should be
Oct 14th, 2010 at 10:33 pm
@sng425
thanks 😀 .. but can anyone confirm??? ❓
Oct 14th, 2010 at 10:52 pm
@x360assasin
yeah you can run on those settings maybe u have to turn off vsync and probably anti aliasing if u wanna play on high graphics texture settings on 1024X768 pixels.I am playing Medal of Honor on 1920X1080 [1080p] now and it looks terrific and what i have seen of the game its highly optimized so u will get better frame rates still it depends on what RAM and Processor u have got btw ❗
Oct 14th, 2010 at 10:59 pm
@sng425
you used to say that you owned an ati radeon 5570 not ati radeon 5670 ❓
Oct 14th, 2010 at 11:22 pm
here are my specs-
core2duo e7200 2.53ghz
2gb ddr2 ram
400w psu
15″ lg monitor
Oct 14th, 2010 at 11:23 pm
❓ ❓ ❓
Oct 15th, 2010 at 12:04 am
@x360assasin
Although Rabbi already answered your question, but I still want to add something. If you turn off vsync and anti-aliasing there’s no doubt that you’ll get a better performance but I don’t think you’ll need to do it since you’re going to run it on 1024×768(trust me it’s not much of a high resolution since both Rabbi and I are running these same games on 1920×1080). So, don’t worry too much. And about you’re specs, they’re good enough to run all these games, at least for now.
@Rabbi
Sorry, I mistakenly wrote that, 😳 5670 is the one which x360assasin is seeking for(got confused with it and mistakenly wrote it). Mine is actually Radeon HD 5570. 😛
Oct 15th, 2010 at 12:05 am
*has
Oct 15th, 2010 at 12:16 am
@x360assasin
those specs are good enough to run medal of honor smoothly with the radeon graphics card.Still i am skeptical about the vsync and anti aliasing settings though.To get max graphics with silky smooth performance i recommend you to turn of those settings and get all the other settings to high but if u dont care about extra frame rates but only care about the graphics then u can turn those settings on.
@sng425
yeah your card and his card model number differences is the 2nd digit that is 5 or 6 respectively easy to get messed up though 😛 Playing Medal of Honor now on the 3rd chapter i aint enjoying every moment of it unlike Modern Warfare 2 but its a good enough modern shooting experience.I did enjoy driving the atv though 😛
Oct 15th, 2010 at 12:22 am
@rabbi
is it the cracked version.. can u go online??
i just can’t wait to get my hand dirty on this medal of honour.. the launch trailer looked cool..happy gaming!! 😉
Oct 15th, 2010 at 12:26 am
@rabbi
may i ask wats ur current gfx card?? i also have a 32’inch bravia connected with my x360.. it also has a vga input for pc..considering to game on a 32′ rather than a crappy 15′..may i know wats the max resoloution i can game at with this card and my current specs(all the latest games)..i think the native resoultion is 1080p with HDMI.. so i guess it is equivalent to 1920*1080.. ❓
Oct 15th, 2010 at 2:30 am
@x360assasin
“is it the cracked version.. can u go online??”
Yeah its the cracked version and no i cant go online.Have to wait a while before those cracked servers rolls out 😀
“may i ask wats ur current gfx card?? ”
My graphics card is XFX Radeon 4870 XXX Edition 1GB GDDR5 256Bit
“)..i think the native resoultion is 1080p with HDMI.. so i guess it is equivalent to 1920*1080.. ❓ ”
Yeah u guessed it right
“..may i know wats the max resoloution i can game at with this card and my current specs”
If u meant ur Radeon 5670 then it should support 1080p but the frame rates will take a hit at high settings you should consider gaming @medium settings if u wanna bump into 1080p.And if u meant my graphics card i will say yes mine supports upto 1600p resolution and my graphics card plays any game @1080p on highest settings but not maxed out though always turn off vsync and anti aliasing though
Oct 15th, 2010 at 9:30 am
@rabbi
i am also considering the nvdia geforce GT240..is it better than hd 5670 for 1024*768 …. also mark my 400w psu..and i don’t need physx or directx11 as i am still gaming on xp..
Oct 15th, 2010 at 9:58 am
@x360assasin
i would recommend you the 5670 over the GT240 as its better than GT240 in every way possible
Check this link if u need details:
http://www.ultimatehardware.net/ati/sapphire_radeon_hd_5670.htm
Oct 15th, 2010 at 10:03 am
@rabbi
thanks.. going to get it unless u have some alternatives gfx card for my psu and resoloution 😆 ? so u think the hd 5670 is best for me.. ❓
Oct 15th, 2010 at 10:06 am
btw… how long will it last with my current specs ❗ ?? it should last at least 1 year..shouldn’t it?? ❓
Oct 15th, 2010 at 10:37 am
@x360assasin
Ati Radeon 5670 is the best solution for you and should be the final upgrade ur gonna need this generation of gaming until the next generation consoles rolls out as ur gaming @1024X768.I tried maxing out the graphics settings in Medal of Honor and got frame rates of (30-35)fps @1080p.I just turned off the vysnc but the anti aliasing was on and all the other settings are maxed out and getting frame rates of (48-54)fps @1080p.Just see the massive difference i just found out by disabling vsync.So i would recommend you to do just that when u play using ur new graphics card card.MAX out all the settings but turn off the vysnc and anti aliasing.
Oct 15th, 2010 at 11:02 am
@rabbi
thnx..u have helped me to choose wisely…
Oct 15th, 2010 at 12:04 pm
@x360assasin
glad to help!
Oct 15th, 2010 at 12:54 pm
@rabbi
one last question.. is 400w psu enough to run hd 5670 alongside my current specs?
Oct 15th, 2010 at 1:56 pm
@x360assasin
yeah it should cuz it supports 400w psu and needs at least 1gigs RAM whereas u have 2 gigs

“i also have a 32’inch bravia connected with my x360.. it also has a vga input for pc..considering to game on a 32′ rather than a crappy 15′..”
That’s great ! 😛 You can always connect your HDTV to your PC meaning that you’ll be able to play those games @ 1080P(that’s actually “1920×1080″ if you don’t know). Of course it’s much better to play on a 32″ HDTV on full HD settings rather than on a 15″ monitor which can’t give you a better resolution than 1024×768. Nevertheless, it’s an undisputed fact that your HD 5670 can render up to 1920×1080 but you just might have to turn off the vsync and anti-aliasing for a better performance (if you intend to play on your HDTV)as Rabbi said.
In my house there are two 32″ LCD HDTVs,(the first one is Sony Bravia while the other one is made of Phillips) and both of those can generate up to 1920×1080(also known as 1080p Full HD) resolution. But however, I still don’t use any of them as my PC’s display device. The only reason I don’t connect my PC to my HDTV is because it’s a real pain to control the PC while sitting so close to the HDTV. So, I rather prefer a monitor for my PC. However, I use my Phillips HDTV(integrated with a Philips 5.1 surround stereo home theater system) as a primary display device for my Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles even though my 22” LG M227WA LCD monitor can also display them in 1080p Full HD settings since it also has two HDMI ports as well. But you know what, it’s way too great to have the experience on a HDTV (especially if it’s displayed in full HD), So I’d rather suggest you to play the games on your HDTV(just like you do when you play on your Xbox 360) rather than your monitor since it can’t give you the 1920×1080 resolution.
Oct 15th, 2010 at 4:15 pm
@sng425
thnx… 😉
but i have one question.. will the hd 5670 be able to game at 1920*1080 with all the details set to high(for the latest games like mw2 bfbc2 medal of honout)?? ❓ ❓
Oct 15th, 2010 at 4:23 pm
@x360assasin
Even my HD 5870 struggles a bit with those settings. So, no 😛
Oct 15th, 2010 at 4:31 pm
@gamin wiz
guess i will hav to do with 1024*768… 😥 😥
Oct 15th, 2010 at 4:52 pm
@gamin wiz
wat about 720p( i think that is equivalent to 1280*768)??
Oct 15th, 2010 at 5:07 pm
@x360assasin
Short answer, no. But it seems that you can play in high settings if you decrease the resolution a bit, not sure about it though. It’s better to use custom settings such as turning off the vsync, anti-aliasing or any other minor graphical changes that would help increase the performance of gameplay and give you the modest result as well at the same time.
Oct 15th, 2010 at 5:25 pm
@x360assasin
“wat about 720p( i think that is equivalent to 1280*768)??”
Like sng425 the answer is NO! cuz 1280X720 resolution is equivalent to 720p not 1280X768 resolution.Yeah u can play at high settings on that resolution but u might have to tweak some settings as well like sng425 said to get optimum graphics with silky smooth performance.
Oct 15th, 2010 at 5:31 pm
@x360 assasin
Sng425 is right. Use custom settings. Turning off anti-aliasing gives the best performance in my opinion.
Stalker: Call of Pripyat is a heavy requirement game. With high graphics settings and resolution at 1280×1024, your HD 5670 got 27.2 fps. Generally, 30 fps is good performance in a game. You can check the benchmark at http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1247/8/
That’s not to say HD 5670 is a bad card. Call of Pripyat is a very demanding game at Directx11/ It is a really good affordable card. Just use medium and custom settings to get good performance. I recommend the 5670 over the GT 240, just like Rabbi said.
Dirt 2 got 49 fps at high settings and same resolution. So, its a very capable card.
Oct 15th, 2010 at 9:07 pm
to tell the truth i don’t mind turning off vsync and tone down AA..but even then will it be smooth?
Oct 15th, 2010 at 9:08 pm
and everyone agrees this(hd5670) is the best for my current specs-
cor 2 duo e7200
2gb ddr2 ram
400w esonic atx thermal psu
15’lg monitor
Oct 15th, 2010 at 9:38 pm
*that was a question ❓ ❓ ❓ ❓
Oct 15th, 2010 at 9:43 pm
@x360assasin
Yes.
Oct 15th, 2010 at 9:47 pm
@gaming wiz
thnx..
wat about the original pc game disks.. u sure they’re not avialable at all??? .. can you buy just the serial key online.. so you install the game with the legit serial key .. and not apply the crack..is it possible??..are there any site that sells this serials??
Oct 15th, 2010 at 10:12 pm
@the gaming wiz
i think it will work..check the following link- http://www.cdkeyshere.com
Oct 16th, 2010 at 2:26 pm
sorry..but hd 5670 is not available here in sylhet..they have the 1gb ddr3 hd 4670..is there a huge difference as i will use dx9 and game at 1024*768…my purpose is only gaming..plzz urgent help 😥
Oct 16th, 2010 at 3:12 pm
@x360assasin
If you spend money to buy original games, don’t waste money on buying cd keys, even if they are genuine. They have lots of problems and in many cases, I’ve heard developers ban CD keys. As I said above buy original games from Steam @ store.steampowered.com
Sorry to hear HD 5670 isn’t available. HD 4670 isn’t a good card nowadays. It is one generation old. HD 4670 doesn’t even support Directx 11.
Even the HD 5670 will be last generation since ATI plans to release HD 6xxx cards real soon.
Oct 16th, 2010 at 3:18 pm
@the gaming wiz
thnx about the games..
for the gfx cards..but i don’t need dx11..i only need good fps in games like mw2, bfbc2, medal of honor, black ops at low resoloutions(1024*768)..i read some review that said there ain’t any difference between 5670 and 4670 at low resoloutions..plz reply quick..is it true??
Oct 16th, 2010 at 3:23 pm
@x360assasin
If you don’t need dx 11, then yeah. At low resolutions of 1024×768 those graphics cards don’t have much difference. So, yeah, go for it.
Oct 16th, 2010 at 3:26 pm
@the gaming wiz

Oct 16th, 2010 at 3:48 pm
bro.. i still use xp..so dx10 dx11 is impossible..but will i be able to play medal of honour, black ops lagless with my current specs on the hd 4670??

@x360assasin
Lag depends on your internet connection, not your hardware. Just try the tips in the above comments to get good performance (anti-aliasing off, etc.)

@the gaming wiz
i know those..but i want to know how will the hd 4670 perform on those games(medal of honor, black ops) without any tweaking..high at 1024*768 resoloutions..

@x360assasin
How can you know performance on a game that hasn’t released yet? As for Medal of Honor, it just released a few days ago and there isn’t any online review of HD 4670 with it. I would test it for you, but I don’t own a HD 4670. But based on other games performance, it should do good. Don’t worry. Most games detect your system settings and choose the best settings.

@x360assasin
you cant max out and get over 30fps in medal of honor with that card.I think u need a custom setup medium to high detail with vsync and antialiasing off @1024X768 for fluid frame rates.Like gaming wiz said we cant say anything about a untested game but judging on treyarch last game Call of Duty 5 and if they use the same engine then it will be way demanding than modern warfare 2 i.e custom setup medium to high settings and no anti aliasing and vsync.

@rabbi
and with the hd 5670
Oct 16th, 2010 at 9:33 pm
ATI Radeon 5670 is about 17%-31% faster than ATI Radeon 4670 which is a massive 😯 difference 😎 not just DirectX11 😛
For details check this out ➡

Oct 17th, 2010 at 12:18 pm
@x360assasin
dont know about 4670 but 5670 is 8100tk in dhaka.
Oct 17th, 2010 at 6:25 pm
@rabbi
wat?????????// and they asked tk8200 for hd 5570!!! unbelievable..wat is the brand??
Oct 17th, 2010 at 6:43 pm
@x360assasin
The brand of the i saw on BCS Computer City of ATI Radeon 5670 is Gigabyte.The Sapphire brand’s ATI Radeon 5670 costs 9300TK.And the Gigabyte brand’s ATI Radeon 5570 is 6700TK in Dhaka.Why not come to Dhaka and buy it thats better i guess
Oct 17th, 2010 at 6:57 pm
@rabbi
yah that’s the best choice.. but the problem is if there is some problem i need to send it to dhaka..that’s not easy at times as the warranty will expire soon..so… ❓ ❓
Oct 17th, 2010 at 8:54 pm
@x360assasin
I think the best choice is to import it from Dhaka. At first the HD 5570 wasn’t available here in Chittagong 👿 (now it’s available though but at that time it wasn’t). And it was obvious that I wasn’t going to travel to Dhaka just to buy a 9000 Tk(at that time the price was like Tk. 9000 something, can’t remember the exact figure)graphics card. So I had to import it from Dhaka. 😛 But it wasn’t so hard after all, I told the guy (whom I was going to buy it from) to import it from Dhaka and bring it here and he did. I only had to wait a week more to get it on my hands, so I’d suggest you to see if you can find anyone who can import it for you(perhaps the computer shop you’re going to buy it from)and by that way it’s going to be far more easy since it isn’t available there in Sylhet.

@The Gaming Wiz/Mushfiqur Rahman
Bro, I’ve heard that Gigabyte has brought in the new HD 5970 in Dhaka and it has been priced around Tk. 50k. Is it true? I mean did you see it anywhere?
Oct 18th, 2010 at 12:42 am
@x360assasin
if u cant do it even the way sng425 told u then just buy it from ur local shop at higher prices thats what u can do at best if u cant travel.But i will hope u wont waste thousands more for just a inflated market in sylhet and get it from dhaka the shrewed way
Oct 18th, 2010 at 9:01 am
@rabbi
i can travel.. but the sales man said that my motherboard may support it as my motherboard is ddr2 whereas hd5670 is gddr5..is it true?? i thought any pci express slot wud do… ❗
Oct 18th, 2010 at 9:07 am
*may not suppport
Oct 18th, 2010 at 11:35 am
@x360assasin
Your sales man is playing tricks with you. Graphics card don’t depend on what ram your motherboard supports. If you have a PCI express slot it will do.
Oct 18th, 2010 at 12:52 pm
@x360assasin
😆 thats absolutely absurd like the gamingwiz said.You need a PCI Express Slot in ur mainboard .But judging by ur old graphics card i.e 8400SE as u mentioned earlier thats a PCI Express Card as far as i know and other PCI Express cards should work as well.Still if ur lost in paranoia it will be better if u can tell me the model of your mainboard so that i that can check if its compaitable and clear out ur confusion.
Oct 18th, 2010 at 1:17 pm
@x360assasin
Bro, Nvidia 8400SE also needs a PCI express slot to work and since you’ve used it earlier on your motherboard it’s obvious that your motherboard does have a PCI express slot. And as long as you have a PCI express slot in your motherboard the HD 5670 will work. The sales man is either playing tricks with you or he doesn’t know anything about how a GPU works!
Oct 18th, 2010 at 1:25 pm
@sng425
motherboard- intel dg31pr desktop board
Oct 18th, 2010 at 1:26 pm
😈 😈 😈
Oct 18th, 2010 at 1:43 pm
@x360assasin
ATI Radeon 5670 HD will support your mainboard as u have one PCI Express X16 Slot.It would have been better if u had a PCI Express X16 2.0 slot i have one it gives u better bandwidth than the X16 v.1 slot though.Just go for it and happy gaming to you after u get the card bro and dont worry about requirements your pc have enough components to support it even the psu is good enough cuz its 400w.I hope the situation is taken care of just dish out those bucks and bang ur in 😆
Oct 18th, 2010 at 1:49 pm
@rabbi
thnx…

“Bro, I’ve heard that Gigabyte has brought in the new HD 5970 in Dhaka and it has been priced around Tk. 50k.”
I still can’t confirm this. But thats a lot to pay considering ATI 6xxx series will be launching within the week.
Oct 28th, 2010 at 3:55 pm
i still wudnt buy original games case dere aint enuf speed to play online 😥 and yes i heard deres a 5970 but form xfx not gigabyte
Oct 29th, 2010 at 9:15 pm
I would definitely buy original games as they are reliable, hassle free and you can just install and play. I just don’t have the time and patience of going through the epic ritual of cracking PC games anymore. When i was a student, I had the time, but now, being a full time worker and a familiy man, I find it more convenient just to pop in a DVD and enjoy games on the xbox360. As more and more gamers are moving to my age group, the demand for original games are increasing.
But I do agree that 600 tk can be a hefty amount for the students.
Nov 20th, 2010 at 5:45 pm
i would buy them if they r 800 – 900 @ max……
Dec 11th, 2010 at 10:37 pm
HMMMMMM, mayb, or mayb not, gotta wait til original games cost $8.5
Apr 29th, 2011 at 2:46 am
I would go for the original even if they are a thousand taka. but 5k is too much….
