Readers Respond: How Would You React If Call Of Duty Released Each Year?
Only two days separate us from Call of Duty: Black Ops and I know many Bangladeshi gamers are playing it right now. Even before Black Ops has released, Activision has confirmed a new Call of Duty for late 2011, rumors suggesting it might be Modern Warfare 3.
So, how would you react if Call of Duty released each year, much like, say FIFA?

Bring it on I’d say. Call of Duty doesn’t sell like hot cakes for no reason and every new Call of Duty has an exciting singleplayer campaign to boot. If Activision can serve up a great action-packed campaign each year, I’m all for it. Gamers are too, analysts suggest that Black Ops will sell over 18 million units.
It’s becoming more of a duty than a game
Call of Duty fatigue anyone? Those 18 million units? The sales revenue will be lower than the previous Modern Warfare 2, suggesting Call of Duty fatigue. With a game coming each year, developers may run out of creative ideas and pack each new iteration with a crappy story line, huge explosions that go boom and slap the Call of Duty moniker on the box. Will it still sell like hot cakes?
Black Ops is due for release on November 9 for PC, PS3, Wii, and Xbox 360.

Hmm…. I couldn’t put my point across clearly. I mean whats your reaction to Call of Duty releasing each year, sorry for the “if” in the article title. Are you still excited for every new CoD games or are you getting CoD fatigue?

Rabbi is right, Call of Duty games are already releasing almost every year, it ain’t something new. And it won’t be eccentric either if they continue doing the same thing. But it’s true that they may run out of creative ideas and make their future titles filled with crappy stuff(such as Modern Warfare 2) if they continue to release a Cod game almost around every year.

Activision does release Call of Duty games every year but we are missing the point here.Different studios worked for different call of duty games and the studios release their own call of duty title every two years but as several studios are working on it so we are getting call of duty titles every year therefore its not yet fatigued and as activision is planning to take the series to a new direction in future so the gamers doesnt get fatigued

and the reason black ops will sell less than modern warfare because its treyarch not infinity ward and secondly the modern warfare 2 moniker is something special.Expect Modern Warfare 3 to sell around 25million more than modern warfare 2 😎

Sng425 is right – in a way. The actual gameplay is not crappy. The story, however, is utter BS. It’s like Michale Bay’s Transformers 2. Here’s what they thought: take a non-sense storyline, have BIIIG explosions and slap on the Modern Warfare moniker and watch the cash rollin in.

I personally found the modern warfare series to be excellent
… as for modern warfare 2… i loved it the campaign was very short and all in all its a game so crazy over the top stories help build gameplay scenerios im with Rabbi on this one… most people today hate MW2 because of the terrible online support (hackers using aimbots and overpriced DLCs and ive personally experience very slow match making with BD internet its rediculously fast with halo reach on the same connection) but i think having bigger gaps between CODs would help generate more demand… i mean the only reason im getting Black Ops is cuz i cant MW3 now… 😯

I didn’t mean the gameplay or visual, what I meant is the crappy storyline. 😡 MW 2 was highly criticized for it’s nonsensical storyline. And I’m not alone on this, the whole internet is blazed with it. i was shocked at first 😯 never thought u could say something like that but u have your point 😉 though but as long as they deliver the innovation and kick ass shooting in their games i dont care about the plot or anything related to that.The story seemed awesome to me when both modern warfare games are combined still the modern warfare 1 story was better but the airport massacre [i like it 😀 ] and the cliffhanger ending in modern warfare 2 just making me itch till i get modern warfare 3 to boot in my pc 😛 cant wait and have the same kind of reason as pagla07

I’m surprised why Black Ops hasn’t already released in BD, at least on the Xbox 360. The Xbox 360 version was leaked ages ago. Halo: Reach was available in BD a long time ahead of its release date, so why not Black Ops?

Whoa, bro ! Take it easy, I don’t know what made you so shocked, as far as I can tell, I didn’t write anything that would offend you. But I’m still sorry if I’ve offended you in any way. 😳
Talking about the story, let me tell you what, whacking off enemies and blowing off choppers won’t be fun for too long(especially in the single player campaign) if you don’t have a strong and solid storyline. A series of explosions are worth nothing when you don’t have a good story or plot for the game.

According to Treyarch’s previous iterations, the shooting was fun and there’s no doubt that Black Ops will also deliver a “kick ass” first person shooting experience. 😛 But I’m really worried about for the next one which is rumored to be developed by Sledgehammer games. I really have doubt whether they can give us a “kick ass” shooting experience or not. 🙄

I will go with you on this one but the good news is a new studio will bring new ideas to the call of duty series but still its skeptical about them are they as solid as infinity ward was?Still i hope tnat sledgehammer games prove us wrong

I hope that they(Sledgehammer Games) will prove us wrong and give us the best call of duty game ever in the coming next year if it happens even though it’s all rumors for now and nothing is confirmed yet. Btw, Did you get your hands on Black Ops yet? I still haven’t got it. 🙁

i will get the pc version but there is still no scene release of pc version so have to wait i guess 🙁 The scene release of the pc version should release tonight
And the xbox 360 ones on the internet are region free ones i think that will work on ur xbox 360 arent you downloading?

I downloaded and started playing Black Ops around 3 days ago. Treyarch has certainly outdone themselves
And yes, I recently got another *ahem* Xbox 360. Actually it was my launch model 360 that RROD’d, sent to MS and got a replacement. So, decided to *ahem* it. Shush!

I was also looking for the PC version, but now it seems like I’ll have to get the 360 version. If any scene release version for the PC doesn’t come out within a day or two I’ll get it for the Xbox 360 ’cause I’m running out of patience 😡 , you know!

Speaking of Jtag, I’ve been thinking to jtag my current Xbox 360 for a while since I’m going to get a new one(the slim with kinect)this December or maybe next year’s January. Do you know where can I jtag my current Xbox 360? I know that Sof and Gamesource mod(flash) xbox 360s, but don’t know whether they can jtag 360 consoles. Do you know anything about it? If they don’t do it, then maybe I’ll have to mod it by myself, but there are certain risks when you mod it by yourself and that’s why I wanted give it to a shop.

SOF Banani, best place in my opinion. Mine is only flashed. Unfortunately, I don’t know of any places that can jtag your 360. If you’re Xbox 360 kernel is 2.0.7371.0 or lower you can jtag it, otherwise you’re out of luck. More info @ http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-JTAG-your-Xbox-360-and-run-homebrew/
But it is a bit complicated and obtaining the necessary parts can be difficult.

Does SOF really jtag Xbox 360 consoles?

I will surely buy call of duty every year, even i haven’t seen any trailer of that game. Because COD is getting better and better, new version is always better then last one!
like MW2 is great then MW and now Black Opps is more great then MW2..
Actually i prefer COD should release 2 or 3 game each year!

I think Call of Duty is just a shooter like Virtual Cop 😆
it is not near to games like far cry,halo,battlefield which main criteria is shooting,i even miss BLACK,the most under-rated shooting game.it also features the first real environment.
COD is just a fanboyish title with a fine multiplayer mode(is it?)
