Witcher 2 Insane Difficulty Is Actually Insane
CD Projekt RED has announced that the Witcher 2 will have four difficulty settings, easy, medium, hard and insane.
Insane is actually insane. Anytime you die, all your saves will be disabled. Take a moment to let that sink in.
So, yeah, you’re this awesome RPG player and progressed far into the story on insane. Needless to say, we don’t want to be there when (for whatever reason) you take a killing blow.
It will also be really difficult to avoid monsters on the insane difficulty. Witcher 2 lead gameplay designer Mateusz explains: “It won’t be easy to not fight the monsters. We fixed that by giving all opponents special abilities which allow them to catch the Witcher.” For example: “Undead can dig into the ground and get up near the player. So when you run he will dig up in front of you and grab you. It will be harder to just run and avoid the fight.”
And yes there’s an achievement/trophy for those who actually complete the game on insane difficulty.
“There will be an achievement for that, for sure.”
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is scheduled to release on 17th May 2011 on PC.
